Hawks Cheerleading
Welcome
Welcome to the 2010 Cheerleading Season with the Horsham Hawks! The Horsham Hawks are home to two Bux-Mont Champions. Both of our competitive squads, Jr. Pee Wee and Jr. Midgets placed 1st in Bux-Mont last year; this year we are setting our sites on Florida!
We have been very busy getting ready for the upcoming season. We’re still searching for additional Coaches, Jr Coaches and VOLUNTEERS. If you, or someone you know, are interested, please contact one of us as soon as possible. At registration your child will be tentatively placed on a squad and you will be contacted by your child’s coach in early summer; once the squads have been finalized. The girls will be sized during the first or second weeks of practice (August) for uniforms and bodysuits. If your child is on a competitive squad, you will also receive your sneaker voucher at that time.
Our cheer program begins on August 2nd. Practice will be held at the Hawks field on Lower State Road. Typically practice is held Monday through Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm. Each of your coaches will set a practice schedule early in the season and notify you accordingly. It is important that your child attends all practices. If your child is sick or must miss a practice, please be sure to contact a Coach or Team Parent in advance. All children must have completed 10hrs of conditioning (practice) prior to being able to participate in any stunting. Please realize this is a Bux-Mont rule that will be strictly enforced as it is in the best interest of the children’s safety. Team Parents will be communicating practice schedule changes as well as any important information regarding the cheer program.
Please note that before your child can begin practice, you must hand in the following paperwork:- Copy of original birth certificate (for any new cheerleaders or returning cheerleaders who did not participate in the previous year).
- Current Photo
- Copy of Final Report Card
- Physical Form (must be signed for this season)
- Medical Release/Authorization for Emergency Treatment.
. You will be notified of a Parent Meeting to be held sometime in July to hand in forms and receive further information about the season.
See the forms page for these forms.
If this paperwork is not received prior to August 2nd, your child will sit out of all practices until all paperwork is received. There are no exceptions to this rule. This is a league rule and will be strictly enforced. We appreciate your help with this. Some time in late September or early October, Bux-Mont will hold it’s Annual Cheer Competition for the competitive squads and Fun Day for the non-competitive squads. As we receive dates and additional information from Bux-Mont, we will pass it along to your coaches and team parents for distribution.Other important dates:
- 8/2 Practice Begins
-
Sleep Away Cheer Camp for competitive (100lb, 115lb, 130lb & 150lb) squads; watch for announcements from your Coach. Pre-registration and payment is req’d. Camp is limited to the first 45 cheerleaders who register.
Please watch and participate in our fund raising activities throughout the summer to go towards the camp.We are looking forward to working with everyone this season. Please contact (see above)with any questions!
